Norton Ghost Recovery Point?

When I do a "One Time Backup", it also creates a file in the backup folder called "Name_Recovery0-2_Drive.v2i" in additional to the backup file.  It's about 1/3 the size of the backup file.  What is this file and do I really need it?  I use the Recovery Point Browser to recover files when I need to - I have never used the system recovery function, so am wondering if I can eliminate this file in my backup process and what harm that might cause?
