Symantec Recovery disk not booting through USB

Hello,

I created a bootable USB stick for booting Symantec Recovery Disk using diskpart on Windows 7. It boots fine on my friend's laptop but while I try to boot my desktop it fails with below message. Mine is an old one with D915GAG mobo. I tried updating my bios to latest available BIOS update Version:0482 (Not sure if this has to do anything with booting) but no gain.

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

To fix the problem:
1) Insert your windows installation disc & restart your computer
2)Choose your language settings and then click next
3)Click Repair your computer

File: \Boot\BCD

Status: 0x000000e

Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
