I am having an issue, which seems to be long known, as ist has already been reported two years ago, e.g. here and here.
Whenever I try to create a restore point with Norton Ghost 15.0 to my external USB drive (NTFS, 1 TB, with sufficient space), the process aborts after a certain time with the above error code.
The full message (in german only, sorry!) reads as follows:
-In Datei kann nicht geschrieben werden. --Fehler EBAB03F1: Der angeforderte Vorgang konnte aufgrund einer Dateisystemeinschränkung nicht abgeschlossen werden. (UMI:V-0-2001-31)
Here's what I was already able to sort out by my own, though without solving it:
- the error only occurs for quite big restore points (approx. 360 GB of original disk space)
- smaller restore points work fine without the error
- I've tried to follow the possible solution given in this post, i.e. I tried to apply the same user privileges to the external drive as to the original drive, including full access for my administrator user. But this didn't help.
- I ran CHKDSK on the external drive, but it didn't reveal any errors. It's generally working fine, apart from this issue here.
Any other ideas how I could get this solved?
Any help appreciated!!
