Norton Ghost 14 Cloning

I had to clone my C drive to an external IDE HD. All went well, i think. Now I realize its an older version, but one does not clone their drives every other day. At least I didn't.LOL  I am at a loss on how to get that  clone C drive into my original C HD IDE, where there is not much room to do it. Should I delete the original C drive first? If so, how do I go about getting my clone drive in its place and make sure its boot able at that? Or is it feasible to just remove the external HD and swap it with the original drive? Would it automatically be boot able? BTW, I have no idea when the cloning took place, if it also clones those blue folders that are shown in Windows...i guess they are those updates.
