My required task: Make an image of an external hard drive. Store the image on a DVD. Use the image to generate multiple identical hard drives at a later date.
My question: Will Norton Ghost 15 work for my required task? Or should I be using a different software product?
Background: I downloaded the 30-day Trial Version of Norton Ghost 15 (Version 15.0.1.36526). When I Select "Advanced | Copy Drive" I get the following error message: "Copy Drive Wizard: This feature is not enabled. To enable this feature you may need to license the product."
I'm hesitant to actually license the product if it won't work for my required task.
Follow-up question: If Norton Ghost 15 *will* work for my desired task, is there any concern about my computer dying before I generate all the needed identical hard drives? In other words, is the generated disk image somehow tied to the computer on which it was made? Or can future identical hard drives be imaged using the original image file but on a different computer with a separate license of Ghost 15?
