Norton Hotspot Privacy - certificate expired

I purchased Norton Hotspot Privacy last night and installed it.  Norton's certificate expired several days ago so it doesn't work. This is the message I get:

login.hotspot.norton.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on 8/3/2013 6:59 PM. The current time is 8/10/2013 8:43 AM.

(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)

I just tried it again and it still says the certificate is expired.  ???

I tried customer service chat online last night and they kept transferring me to incorrect support areas.  I just wanted to let them know about the certificate.  

Is this a bug or did Norton really fail to renew their certificate?  Until this is resolved, I wasted my money buying the product because the only way I can surf the web is to disconnect Norton Hotspot Privacy.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do about this?
