I have tried for 4 solid days to fix this with every bit of advice i can find usually getting past one problem and into the next. Bought the Samsung 840 Pro 256gb to update my current Intel 160gb. I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 notebook, Bios Hewlett Packard F.23 version 2.6, OS MS Windows 7 Ultimate. Bought the USB cable to migrate system to new drive with copy drive ended with numerous failures. My partitions on my one and only internal drive are sys, win c, hp recovery and hp tools. Copy drive continued to end with drive dissappearing in disk management at the end of copy Win C. I did copy Sys first. So I bought a new external hard drive just to do a one time back up of original drive (intel 160gb). When I tried to copy sys files seperately it always wanted to associate it with Win c even when I clicked the little square not to associate it with other drives. Followed through with backup anyhow. I cannot get to Computer Manager to show you anything. Although before I switch out the drives I made sure my new one showed Basic unallocated. By the way all partitions are NTFS except Hp tools was FAT 32. I did have same problem when the disk disappeared as some when rebooting it showed dynamic invalid. I can only boot up with recovery disks now. I have several different ones. (Avanquest rescue disk, Norton 15, and my Hp recovery disk) My windows boot manager says File \windows\system32\winload.exe status 0xc000000e the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
